About You
What hobbies and other personal interests do you have?

My hobbies and persona interest consist of working/volunteering with young children, babysitting, attending sporting events, and attending concerts.

Please explain why you are continuing your education.

Throughout the years of High School I have spent a good portion of time constructing an academic career plan. Now that I am approaching the end of my High School journey I have set high standards for myself since I will soon be entering what adults like to call "the real world." In this real world I hope to exceed all set expectations and gain the knowledge needed to obtain a degree in surgical technology. My motivation for achieving a higher education comes from different contributing factors. The most significant factor is myself. I want to be able to prove that I am capable. I know that in college I will be my toughest critic, and only I can better myself with the proper mindset. Pursuing a higher education will allow me to have a greater chance in the workforce along with providing new skills development, networking, and personal fulfillment. If I were to earn the Frio County Rotary Scholarship it would not only help me financially, but also motivate me to possibly pursue a higher level of education such as a Bachelor's Degree. Sometimes all it takes is that first step to motivate one more. Earning this scholarship will give me validation for my hard work and achievements, which will boost my confidence and open doors to new opportunities.

This area can be used to pass along any other information about yourself that you feel might be relevant to this application.

In my career plan I am determined to earn an Associateś degree for surgical technologist. With todayś economy it makes sense to pursue a degree that only takes 2 years, and provides financial stability soon after graduation. Once in the work field I will be able to get hands-on training and knowledge which may also entice me to pursue a higher level of education. I am currently in the top ten of my graduating class, and I am also enrolled as a dual credit student with Southwest Texas Junior College. I feel that I am preparing myself for what is to come. When I graduate high school I will also graduate with 30 college hours, helping me get ahead on my journey to becoming a Surgical Technologist. As an upcoming college freshman I have the determined mindset of working toward a degree, but also maintaining employment while enrolled in college. Pushing myself to accomplish both these tasks will help me better prepare for difficult obstacles and situations that may cross my path. Such is life.
While I am proud to be enrolled as a dual credit student and maintain a 3.8 grade point average, there are a few other achievements I take pride in. Being that I come from a small town I have learned the meaning of ¨helping your neighbor¨. I have completed community service hours at Kids Are First Head Start, done volunteer work with Knights Of Columbus Council #8327, volunteered with my parish's Vacation Bible School, and volunteered to fundraise for the graduating Class of 2024. Throughout my high school career I have also actively participated in other school organizations. Some include, Rotary Interact Club, Student Council, and Baseball Manager. I feel that I play a significant role in Pearsall High School´s Class of 2024. I am honored to have the title of Class President which I have maintained since my Junior year of High School. I have genuinely enjoyed being able to lead my classmates throughout the two most vital years of High School.

Tell us about your dreams or goals for the future.

Although I am still in high school I have a determined mindset that will help me reach my dreams and goals for the near future. I have the goals of participating in extracurricular curricular activities while maintaining a high gpa while working and being enrolled in college. I have the dream of studying abroad while being able to work hards on in an environment that I am unfamiliar with. Through the journey of reaching my dreams and goals I will find a balance between achievement and my own personal growth. After I am done in my academic journey I hope to land my dream job in the medical industry while also prioritizing the family I hope to have some day.
