About You
What hobbies and other personal interests do you have?

One of my favorite hobbies is to work on Japanese Gunpla Models which are models based on mecha anime and Warhammer models based on the Warhammer table top game. What I enjoy the most about building and painting models is that it allows me to be creative and use my knowledge of the color theory to help improve my models. It is also something that I find calming and relaxing. A personal interest I have is playing sports as it emphasizes working with others to achieve common goals. During my time as a student athlete, I truly enjoyed strategizing with my team and putting plays in action in an effort to score or win the game.

Please explain why you are continuing your education.

After graduating from high school, I've decided to continue my education because I have a strong passion for learning and a desire to pursue a career that aligns with my interests and talents. My hobbies of LEGO and Gundpla model building and painting have played a significant role in influencing my decision to pursue a degree in architecture.

Firstly, my love for LEGO building started when I was very young. I spent countless hours constructing buildings, vehicles, and entire cities out of colorful plastic bricks. Through this hobby, I developed a keen eye for design and learned how to visualize and create structures in three dimensions. LEGO building taught me valuable lessons in creativity, problem-solving, and attention to detail, skills that are essential for success in the field of architecture.

Similarly, my interest in Gunpla model building and painting has also contributed to my decision to pursue architecture. Building and customizing Gundpla allowed me to explore different architectural styles and techniques on a smaller scale. I learned how to work with materials, textures, and colors to bring my designs to life, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the process. Gunpla model building taught me the importance of precision and craftsmanship, qualities that are highly valued in the field of architecture.

Overall, my hobbies of LEGO and Gunpla model building and painting have provided me with a solid foundation in design and construction, sparking my interest in architecture and shaping my career aspirations. I am excited to further develop my skills and knowledge in architecture through continued education, with the goal of one day creating innovative and inspiring spaces that positively impact the world around me.

This area can be used to pass along any other information about yourself that you feel might be relevant to this application.

I have been accepted and plan to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio with a major in architecture. I attribute my hobbies to my choice of major. I understand that this is not an easy major, but I am confident that I will be able to use my problem solving skills to achieve my goal of becoming an architect. I have always been self motivated and pushed myself to maintained good grades making the honor roll every year from the time I was in elementary school. Being able to maintain good grades allowed me to enroll in dual credit college classes now that I am in high school This has been very important not just for me, but for my family as it will reduce the cost of my college expenses. I also understand the importance of maintaining good attendnce. I rarely miss school unless is it school related or because I am sick. My attendance is what also allows me to do well academically because I do not miss the content being taught in my classes.

Tell us about your dreams or goals for the future.

I have a dream of owning my own architecture firm. This dream isn't just about personal ambition or professional success; it's about creating a better future for myself and, most importantly, for my family. As the youngest child in a tight-knit family, I've always felt a deep sense of responsibility to support and care for my loved ones especially after seeing my mom work so hard to provide for our family as a single parent. By owning my own firm, I envision creating a stable and secure future for my family where we can all prosper together. It would also enable to me leave a lasting legacy for future generations of my family. By building a successful business from the ground up, I hope to inspire my future children and grandchildren to dream big and pursue their goals with determination and perseverance. I want to instill in them the values of hard work, integrity, and innovation, guiding them towards a future filled with endless possibilities.
