About You | |||||||||
What hobbies and other personal interests do you have? | I am very interested in the music industry. I myself like to write and produce music in hopes of releasing on a platform soon. I use this musical skill to assist the worship team at my church by either playing an instrument or running the sound board. I also love playing video games and Dungeons and Dragons during my free time.
Please explain why you are continuing your education. | I am continuing my education in hopes for a comfortable future, not only for me but for my family as well. I have decided to take a more difficult route, going to one of the largest and best schools in Texas (Texas A&M University), on top of a major in Biology in order to set myself up for great success. My dream is to go into the medical field, more specifically become a PA as of right now, and with that I can be able to be fruitful with my finances and help support those in my family who struggle. In continuing my education, I hope to live a blessed life with the ability to bless other people.
This area can be used to pass along any other information about yourself that you feel might be relevant to this application. | I am currently enrolled at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and I will beginning my freshman year there this fall. I got accepted to this prestigious because I qualified for automatic admission. In order to do this, I had to be in the top 10% of my class. I was able to remain in the top 8% of my class for the last 2 years! I believe I did this by maintaining an A average in all of my classes. Doing that alone was a nightmare due to all of my sports, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. Everyday I was staying after school for at least 2 hours for something, most of the time I had to go to another club or sport after I finished with the first one. Attendance was also a factor in the struggle of keeping my rank high. Because of my super busy schedule I was rarely in the classroom. This caused me to miss a lot of lecture time, and forced me to figure things out on my own. Luckily, I have gotten quite used to that throughout my high school career, and I was able to get all of my assignments in on time with no issue. Figuring things out on my own gave me a great sense of logistics and this helped me with tests with material that I knew nothing about. According to my counselor, I passed my math TSI with flying colors, which I was surprised to hear about since I was clueless during the test. Because of all of these reasons, I believe I earned my place in Texas A&M University. Though it took some perseverance, I know that these skills I have developed will allow me to fit in just fine over there, and allow me to pursue my dream of graduating as an Aggie.

I am majoring in Biology, a very difficult major, but doing this will allow me to achieve my dream of being in the medical field, and more specifically, becoming a PA. This job in a good area will ensure me and my family a comfortable, blessed life. However, in order to do this I must take things one step at a time, and continue to take the opportunities -like this scholarship- that give me the ability to go and prosper in this prestigious school. |
