A Night to Remember: The Rotary Club of Frio County’s 2024 Inaugural Denim & Diamond Gala
What a night! The Rotary Club of Frio County hosted our 2024 Inaugural Denim & Diamond Gala on Saturday, October 5th, and it was a smashing success!
Held at the John Byron Strait Civic Center, we owe a big thanks to the Pearsall City Council for letting us use this fantastic venue. Over 100 community members showed up to support and volunteer, including around 20 enthusiastic Frio County Interact kids. This event was all about raising funds for local Rotary causes, especially the Grady Roberts Memorial Scholarship Fund, which helps Frio high school graduates pursue higher education.
Our evening was graced by inspiring speeches from Katie Roberts, Scott Hill, Rebekah Mann, and Latosha Bright. The musical vibes were courtesy of Matt Tejeda and The Backwoods Band, while David’s Catering delighted our taste buds with a delicious dinner of Tuscan Chicken, rice, and veggies. Absolutely stunning floral arrangements were provided by Sage Floral.
By Sunday morning, we were thrilled to announce that we raised over $17,000 through donations, ticket sales, and a silent auction. A huge shoutout to our local community and business leaders for their generous cash donations and auction items. We couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from sponsors like Dilley Vey Clinic, South Texas Law Group, Wintergarden Abstract & Guarantee Co, HEB, Allison Ebanks, South Central AHEC, Rick Drexel, and Frio Regional Hospital.
The auction items were a hit, featuring everything from a grandfather clock to locally made products and services.
Thank you to everyone who made this night unforgettable. Here’s to many more successful events in the future!
